WHO:  Hands on Hartsville is a community-wide service project being spearheaded by Coker College Center for Engaged Learning in partnership with Darlington County Habitat for Humanity and Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) Hartsville Campus.

MISSION:  Our mission is two-fold:

1) To provide leadership development for local college students

2) To bring together all sectors of the community to share in leadership and service in support of the non-profit agencies that give so much and receive so little.

HOW IT WORKS:  Non-profits apply for a service project that will require many hands to complete.  Between 1-5 projects will be selected, based on feasibility and ability to acquire volunteer expertise, equipment and supplies.  On April 18, 2015, between 8:00am – 12:00pm, volunteers from throughout the community will complete the selected projects, at no cost to the non-profit organization.  A big breakfast meal will kick-off the event at 7:30am.  In the background, teams of student and adult leaders will serve on 7 task forces, which collectively will make the service day happen.  Task forces include:  volunteers; public relations; projects; donations; logistics; finance; and kick-off breakfast.  The Hands on Hartsville project is benefiting non-profit agencies at no cost to the agency, which means all equipment and supplies are donated.

DONATIONS & SPONSORSHIPS:  All donations and sponsorship monies to the Hands on Hartsville project are tax-deductible and a receipt will be provided. Checks can be made payable to Darlington County Habitat for Humanity with ‘Hands on Hartsville’ in the memo section of the check. Donations may be dropped off at 120 W. Washington St.  Call  (843) 383-8058 for more information.

One of the most important components to make a project like Hands on Hartsville possible is sponsorship. Show you CARE by selecting a sponsorship level. Sponsor recognition on t-shirts is available for sponsorships paid by April 10, 2015.
